Jessica McLaren Eroticon Meet and Greet

Eroticon Meet and Greet Jessica

Jess is one of the attendees of this years Eroticon. She wanted to do an online meet and greet but as she does not have a blog we offered to host it here!

Name (and Twitter, if you have one)

When I’m writing erotica, I’m filed under Jayne Renault (@jayne_renault). When I’m playing editor for Bellesa’s erotic stories collection (@BellesaStories) or generally going about my business in the world, they tend to call me Jess.

What are you most looking forward to about Eroticon 2018?

I don’t even know where to start. It’s a bit of a toss up between the opportunity to absorb all of the knowledge the speakers will impart on us (quietly fangirling over sharing the same air as a couple of those speakers in particular) and being surrounded by so many like-minded people all on a path to promoting happy, healthy sex lives for everyone.

It’s my first year attending and I admit that I am also a little nervous for the same reasons I’m excited. As a somewhat anxious introvert, I find mingling with a room full of new faces a rather daunting challenge. But in reading the other Meet and Greet answers and accounts from other attendees in the past, what I might be looking forward to the most now is moving past the nervousness and making real connections with some pretty amazing people.

We are creating a playlist of songs for the Friday Night Meet and greet. Nominate one song that you would like us to add to the playlist and tell us why you picked that song.

Jealous (I Ain’t With It) by Chromeo. Because it’s just so catchy! I can’t not sing and dance along to it any time I hear it.

What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid?

More than anything, I wanted to be a spy or a private detective. (I guess I couldn’t choose between having the support of an organization and running my own show.) And I would practice incessantly. I would slink around, surveilling my family, my friends, random strangers, the neighbour, the neighbour’s cat. I’d write down things they said or make notes on their behaviour, mannerisms, and appearance. I’d make up stories for them based on what I observed. And of course, I gave myself new aliases and identities for every mission.

Then I realized that I’d actually been training to be a writer all that time. So here we are now.

Weirdest place you’ve ever gotten up to mischief (define ‘mischief’ however you like…)

I chuckled to myself reading Molly’s answer to this question because I have fucked in an graveyard. But in truth, it was a bit of an accident… I didn’t realize it was a graveyard until we went to change positions and rolled over a flat tomb hiding in the taller grass.

Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself

I have a black belt in taekwondo.

I’ve travelled over 30 countries.

I’ve never gone skinny dipping.

Complete the sentence: I want…

a nice cold beer, please.
