The presentation will run for approx. 30mins, with 15mins left for a Q&A with the audience. The session will also include audience participation, where I will ask the audience for contributions re: the themes covered i.e. What makes a great sex scene to you? I will be covering various topics, listed below: - Definition of Erotica - Trends & Common fantasies (i.e. BDSM, Dark Romance, some historical context of known erotic themes) - What makes a good sex scene? - Crafting realism and relatibility to an audience - Sexual safety & diversity i.e. Sex & disability, safe sex, proper consent & negotiation in BDSM fiction, LGBTQ+ characters etc. - Methods to balance real-life matters into an erotic setting. Various examples include: Laughter while exploring a kink scene together. Water breaks during sex. Emphasis on consent in BDSM in a Dark Romance etc.
