What are you most looking forward to about Eroticon 2018?
In my role as Saturday night co-entertainment I was only briefly at Eroticon last year, and regretted not attending for longer and for the workshops and sessions that the conference is actually for. So, I’m looking forward to taking part in the Saturday sessions and learning a lot in a space where talk about sex/erotica/kink is open and free; specifically Neil Brown on legal aspects of blogging and writing (I’m mildly nerdy about law), Miss Eve E on Disability and Sex Work and Remittance Girl about Taboo.
I’m also looking forward to a thoroughly sloshed night out with some of my favourite people on the Saturday, and to watching some kinky magic tricks and silhouettes!
We are creating a playlist of songs for the Friday Night Meet and greet. Nominate one song that you would like us to add to the playlist and tell us why you picked that song.
This almost seems futile given that I won’t be there on Friday night (at the very least, not until late – I have a stand-up gig in London that same night), but my pick would be a recent new favourite song, ‘High Heels’ by JoJo. I first heard it in an amazing Buzzfeed video and have listened to it dozens of times as a self-hype-raising anthem.
What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid?
I think it may have been a teacher, but only because my parents were both teachers at the time. Needless to say that idea didn’t stick with me for very long. As a teenager, I did throw around ideas of being a poet and comedian; nowadays, I’m certainly getting there…
Weirdest place you’ve ever gotten up to mischief (define ‘mischief’ however you like…)
Sadly, despite a number of adventures, I’ve never got up to ~sexy~ mischief anywhere particularly unique, not even alfresco fun. So if we widen the definition, feel free to ask me if you see me about the time I once performed a poem containing the c-word and a number of other expletives in front of a crowd at a BBC venue which included at least one Dalek…
