One area that I wanted to expand for Eroticon 2013 was discussions surrounding sexual health and education. I firmly believe that we have a responsibility to write sex right both factually and compassionately to help inform, educate and support young people to grow up with healthy attitudes to their own sexual well-being and that of others, which is why I’m so pleased that Petra Boynton has agreed to take part in Eroticon 2013.
Petra Boynton is a Senior Lecturer in International Health Services Research at UCL. She teaches postgraduate healthcare staff from 58 different countries, researches sex and relationships health, including modernising sexual health services, managing psychosexual problems in healthcare, and evaluating the impact of mediated sex advice.
Petra has a particular interest in making sex/relationships evidence freely accessible to the public via social media and is currently researching sex and relationships issues when trying to conceive, during pregnancy and throughout parenthood.
As well as expanding the factual and discursive scope of Eroticon I’m also keen to expand the resources for writers, both creatively and practically, which is where our next speaker can help.
